Torah High is an accredited Jewish studies program created and designed by NCSY Ottawa. It simply means you come to a class once a week (we are off when your school is off and for Jewish holidays), and you acquire 30 Torah High hours throughout the year, and you will get a valuable high school credit. It can give you a spare, you may be able to boost your average, and you'll make new friends at the same time. Friends, credits and good times. What could be better? (Perhaps winning the lottery).
The Torah High classes? We describe them as interactive and interesting. No lectures. Not boring. Your teachers are dedicated to preparing classes that get you thinking, moving, participating, doing, discussing and more (maybe not all at the exact same time). We want you to express your opinion, ask lots of questions, speak your mind, and have your opinions respected by your teachers and classmates. The class material is relevant to you, as a Jewish teenager, living in the 21st century.
Blah....Blah....Blah....Quick question: You mentioned something about this oozing of awesomeness, can you elaborate on what forms of awesomeness you ooze? We're glad you asked.
Our teachers are awesome. A teacher has brought Timmies coffee (this is not a paid advertisement) with doughnuts and croissants (not from Tim Horton’s) for a laid-back "Ask Anything" week. It’s not unusual for our teachers to bring homemade baked treats to class or even BBQ up something special for their students.
That’s just a few examples of our teachers going the extra mile for their students.
Our exams are awesome. Yes, our exams are awesome. Instead of a written final exam, you get to make a video essay, that’s right, a video. Hmmmm....written exam or video.....tough choice.
Our Torah High hours are awesome. In order to receive a Torah High credit you must complete 30 Torah High hours outside of class. We provide many options, including weekend conventions (trips) to places like New York City where we attend an NBA game, shop in Chinatown and Times Square and get to hear from world class guest speakers. We also have trips to Washington, Toronto and cool camps. Don't like trips? We also have many local programming options to help students get their 30 Torah High hours, including scrumptious Shabbat dinners (sometimes held at Sir Robert Borden High School), fun Jewish holiday parties, big community events, Learn N Earn and engaging Sunday Seminars.
Does that ooze enough awesomeness for you?

Torah High Testimonial
"I thought that Torah High was a great experience, and that every Jewish teenager should take it for at least one year."
